I think this was a rather silly decision on my part to start a painting with 6 people in it for my fourth acrylic painting. I had not learned enough to complete it yet. I am getting there. For the most part I am happy with the likenesses of each but not really happy with a couple faces, too rigid looking. Oh and by the way feel free to critize or question/challenge my artistic decision. This is the only way we get better :). At least that is the BS they try to tell me...

So not much more if I really want to wrap this painting up and ship it. But I want to make it pop so I am willing to slow burn it to completion.

Kudos to you for accepting the challenge! If they don't like it, tell them you'll replace it in a couple of years when you've had more practice.

You seem to have some conflict over doing any more work on this painting. The fact is, no painting is ever completely done. You just have to decide you've had enough of it, lol.

If you want to do more, the red color on the two younger girls faces seems a bit intense. Maybe blend it in a bit...?

Thanks for the comments! Deb yes I agree after sitting with this painting again I decided that every face needed drastic attention based on what I have learned with the other more recents portraits I've done. Starting to get them going in the right direction. I am getting really good at my "come to Jesus" conversations about proportion and values. Color is where I like to let style breed. I know it will drive some people crazy and I say good. Need to get a better camera as the blending in the faces is not really captured with my current camera. Anyways it appears that this is a loose painting and in some aspects it is but not at the same time with the detailed worked in.

Still have a little more to do clothes need attention badly, but first I need to settle on my background wall color so that I can complete the three taller subjects, we except for baldy I do have to wait on finishing him :).

This is one of 5 portraits that I have going on, well I guess this counts as six in one. Jumping between them as I feel like it.
