Wire Frame?

I'm guessing that's one of those little doll like things that you can manipulate all different ways so you can see how it looks in order to draw the figure.

I want to get me one of those. I saw them for sale at Hobby Lobby but all the ones I've seen are wood not wire so I'm not real sure what you are talking about when you say you did it from a wire frame.

The wire frame is just a construction method. You draw your figures in a wire frame form to get position and balance and perspective. The ones you see in my sketches all came from calendar pictures. I just look at the people or animals and make a wire frame version (based loosely on the skeletal structure) then "flesh them out" to make the person or animal. It is a cool way to do quick sketches of any scene with figures without taking a lot of time for detail. You can detail them in your final piece. Hopefully I explained this adequately.

I've tried using wire frames in drawing a person..I've looked at tutorials and everything but I still fail... ; - ; so erase here..and erase there...I always take a picture of my face or search for pictures of some person who's doing a pose of what I need for my work..it's easier for me that way... ^w^

That is the beauty of art! It is as inividual as the artists. What works for one may not work for another.
I am one of the stubborn ones, if something challenges me I will not stop until I accomplish it. I had a lot of trouble with the wire frames at first but now that I have mastered it, I am able to do other things I had trouble with. Now that you have mentioned what works for you, I will give photo representations a try.

I totally agree with you when it comes to accepting art challenges. I'm not even experienced with painting and yet, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED It's building up the confidence in you, knowing you love to learn and try more things. ^^
