Hello,

I am new to painting and especially now varnishing my paintings. When I go to varnish my painting I keep getting this separation issue and for the life of me cant figure out why. Below are some pictures to show exactly what I mean. Any ideas to what is causing this?

Is the paint all the way dry?

Are you using oil-based varnish, or acrylic water-based varnish?
