Tracing

I'm simply wanting to know if tracing, outlining a picture is ok when selling art. An example : I took pictures of lighthouses I visited and wanted to get to the painting process rather than spending a lot of time drawing the proper perspective of the buildings, etc. So this way, I skipped that step and worked on the style of painting that I preferred (although, for me, every painting is "practice" and learning). Some details were unlike the picture such as adding clouds and making it a sunny day rather than overcast. Sorry for all this detail. Please advise! Thank you, Carol

Hmmm, not really sure if you're trying to advise or being sarcastic. Hopefully, others will comment. Thanks.
Thanks for your input. I read an interesting article about it on the Virtual Instructor's site. I think being honest about it with the buyers and it doesn't matter to them, meaning the final outcome is what is important (such as perspective and accuracy), then it's fine. Also, it's up to the artist himself......so I guess it's a matter of preference in the long run. My drawing skills are important and attainable and shortcuts for time's sake are legit.
