Hello,
I have been on a quest to find the best way to paint with oils without using terps. I have tried walnut oil ( took forever to dry on the 3rd layer) and sennelier green for oil solvent thinner ( takes weeks to dry in the first layer). The problem is I like to use layers, starting with a very thin base layer, and then build up thin layers. Normally I used terps for that and it works marvelous, and doesn't give any problems with the fat over lean rule.
I have been strugling to find a way that works, even giving up a few times and going back to gouache or watercolour, but I so love the intensity of oilpaint...
Has anyone here found a way to paint this way with oils without terp that does not take weeks in between the layers to dry?

Thanks,
Marlies
