Gesso is carcinogenic.
It will cause lung cancer.
NEVER SAND GESSO unless you wear a high-quality respirator
(not a dust mask). And work in a well-ventilated room, where other
artists are not working (unless you don't care if you harm their lungs).
Gesso contains formaldehyde and ammonia.
It should be used only in a well-ventilated area, and
a high quality respirator should be worn when using.
