Hi,
I'm new to oil painting but like the style used in the eye paintings by Sando Kopp. Below is an example - he doesn't seem to try and create an exact/detailed resemblance of the eye, and the strokes contain mixed colours, and are applied in a kind of haphazard way - but viewed from a distance it looks realistic.
I was wondering, what is this style of painting called, and is there a name for this particular technique, so I could investigate it more?
