Hello all:

Was hoping someone might be able to suggest a way to fix my old ink drawing. The board I had drawn on has changed color and now some spots that I had corrected while working on it are really pronounced. Here is a photo of it. Vertebrate Botany Plant Organism Tree
You can see the white spots. I was hoping there is a way that I can fix it to where it isn't as noticeable.

Thank you

P.S. I am going to be getting back into ink drawing and painting once I get some space to start again. Been a long time so I am going to be very rusty, but hope I can get my skills back up and get better.

I think you can fix the wings pretty easy, but that area behind the dragons head will be a tough one.
The drawing is gorgeous!! i definitely want to see some updates on how it's going. :glasses:
So how would I fix it. I was thinking maybe if I can make the white match the aged color of the board. Or is there a way to bleach the board back to white without damaging the ink? If I can restore it, I was going to use it as one of my portfolio drawings to get a SBA loan to buy a place for a studio.
I had this drawing stored in a outside unit so guess the heat must (and that it was done in 1983) have made it yellow. It was still white when I had it hung up in my house in the 90's.

if you have a good art supply place in your area, you may also be home to some professional artists who could eyeball your drawing and give better tips than we can, since they can physically see the print.

I understand that if you haven't drawn in many years, you can't just pick up a pencil and whip out a masterpiece in one day. :vs_smirk: I've been back at it steadily a couple of years now, and I learn something new everyday.

You've been away for a while and I'll bet you'll be better off starting something new. As a lifetime musician, I know when I come back after some time off, I have new ideas and better techniques somehow. I think I'm in agreement with Just.
