Its been 12 years since i stoped drawing. As a kid i used to enjoy drawing. I used to draw only donald duck, goku and vegeta and my drawings were pretty good. Every1 liked my donald duck drawings bec it looked close to real ones. I never used to color it was all just pencil drawings.

Now after 12 years i need to draw again. I will be mostly doing drawings for flash games mobile games etc. So it will be mainly char animation backgrounds and stuff

So what you guys think is the best software to get started again. As of now i have photoshop, inkscape and illustrator. I dont know illustrator. I have very little knowledge about other 2.
Can you people tell me where to get started and stuff or point to some good tutorials. I will be drawing with pen tablet.

Hello witcher and welcome to Artist Forum!

Since you're not hard-wired to any particular graphic design apps, you have a graphic tablet and if you're not doing any high-end designs...and Flash is your ultimate destination, why not just work within Flash? You'll eliminate import/export headaches, keep your project file sizes minimal, fast-loading and save time you would have lost jumping from program to program. Flash has some decent, if less than stellar drawing tools utilizing vector-based graphics (meaning the computer 'draws' the shape [providing nigh-infinite scaleability] , as opposed to bitmaps, which pixellate upon zooming) (if I'm completely confusing you, I'd suggest hitting up libraries/bookstores to aquaint yourself with this stuff...I've only been talking talking basics.)

On the flip side..the non-digital end...draw draw draw. There's no royal road to hand/eye coordination/proficiency. Re-think animation: although it can be used as such, Flash animation is not like Disney animation because its more economical..as in, instead of drawing each frame, each change, Flash animators exploit 'tween' animation, zooming/scaling, recycling and combining lots of small amimations together instead of attempting one long, huge shot...but you do need to learn the rules before successfully bending them to suit your purpose.

Okay...that was longwinded. Good luck!
