Hello everyone,
New member here. I started producing art in 2019 as a side line rebellion against delayed gratification. The rest of my life is willingly and happily given over to a longer game: adapting as any parent to the needs of a growing family (I have two boys 5 and 4), and continuing as a self-employed professional with my own education business.
As an artist I am impulsive, greedy and impatient to produce. I work mainly in oil pastel because I can add layers almost immediately. From the boiler room of our farm in Wiltshire -which I converted to a studio because it’s the warmest room in the house- I’ve completed over 150 works in the past three years, having never done so much as an art GCSE. When this happened, I didn't want to question or overthink it, I just had to do it. And that excitement remains more valuable to me than anything else. Hours melt away when I get going, and for as long as that is the case, I'll keep doing it.
Have attached images to give you an idea of my style and vibe. I am exhibiting 30-40 pieces in London this summer. and would appreciate any feedback that you feel compelled to give.
On a totally separate note, I am looking to turn some of these images into limited run posters to sell at the same exhibition. Would anyone have any contacts or advice on how best to do this?
Many thanks in advance,
Victoria Clarke
