Hi Krizpie Waffles,

If children's books is what you want to do ...

I trust original story and art work by you ... then -

get paid to try out your story concepts ... by getting on your Public Library list as a story-time vendor ...

You can print up a prototype of your book with your art work - and try it out with the little ones ... to see which story ideas keep them enchanted.

When you have 2 or 3 ideas that seem to work every time ... then copyright your story and your pictures.

Don't make the mistake that Hardie Gramatky made ... come up with a great idea and sell it for peanuts.

Gramatky sold the rights of Little Toot to Disney, but never received any royalties for the merchandise, recordings or videos that were sold over the years.

So once you have your copyrights in place ... then get a copy of Artists and Graphic Designers Market ... and research which publishers you want to shop your story to .

Never sign a 'work for hire' agreement and reserve your 'serialization rights.' You want royalties on all items that your story may be used with.

Best regards
