Did you try this one in pencil first? Understanding the shading with pencils would really help getting it right in color. One thing I do with colored pencils is add the lightest color all over first, then build up layers going darker each time but be careful, some yellows have a high wax content and eventually they won`t layer anymore. I see you graphed off the paper, something I often do to get everything right, works for me. Please....flip your pics, just makes things easier.

Welcome to the group and since you have just started drawing I have to say very nice start.

What I would look at to improve your drawing is to include more values and deeper shading. Right now your drawing lacks dimension because you haven't shaded (added deeper values) to the right areas..and you haven't highlighted to bring areas to the forefront.

All of that takes time and practice. Lots of practice. I would suggest possibly working with graphite first to get the hang of shading properly and to understand how value changes can really bring a drawing from a flat 2 dimensional piece to a vibrant 3 dimensional one.

One thing I always recommend when doing any sort of realistic work is to NOT OUTLINE. It looks as if for the most part you have a good start with that but it's different when you do graphite.

Good luck, keep drawing and continue to share with us so we can enjoy watching your progress.
