There is nothing as good as the immediate feedback from an instructor in a face to face face art class, but there are bot too many 'art' classes offered by the local community college. I'll hit one or two this fall, but, in the meantime, what artists are offering good, to exceptionally good, online classes/lessons?

Most, if not all, of what I see on YouTube are mini-lessons on very specific things like how to paint an eyeball or how to draw a hyena spot, or they are partial lessons aimed at sucking viewers to their parlor for the whole lesson (at a price, of course). Don't get me wrong - I am not opposed to paying for classes, but how does one select where to spend money and learn?

Here's what I am doing.

In the fall I'm planning to take this online course:
https://www.artistsnetworkuniversity.com/courses/getting-started-with-oil-painting

The reason I want to wait until fall is because I have some summer vacations planned and I have my grandchildren with me A LOT over the summer and it just wouldn't be practical to do it before then. The Artists Network University has a lot of courses.

Another one that I'm looking into but haven't decided on yet is http://virtualartacademy.com/

In the mean time for Free check out the PBS online videos:

These are full lessons for free and I think the instructor is excellent. He's such a nice guy too. I have spoken with him online. You will see a couple of the pictures that he does in the videos on in my album.
