This was my first attempt at any kind of landscape, I've been working through the concepts I want (Both story and art) for an RPG I'm working on, and I wanted to come up with a menu background. With a vague idea, a Kuretake pen, and my sketchbook, I took to the kitchen table and drew whatever came to mind. As I finished the base design, I realized I had no idea how to draw clouds. After some reference photos, a few tutorials, and a bit of searching for my Pentel Japanese brush pen, I had something I was mostly satisfied with and ready to receive feedback on.

So without further ado, I'll add the piece and accept any feedback!

It is a good first try!

I think you need more mid range tones however. You definitely have whites and darks but no greys, no subtle changes from shadow to light.

How long have you been drawing?

Thank you for your advice! I actually just ordered a set of gray pens, didn't have any to work with yet! I've been drawing since I was around three, though I imagine everyone drew at young ages. It was only about three or four months ago that I decided to take my art seriously and work my way towards illustration and animation as a career.
