Hi artists, a question to you all. Imagine you want to create a crazy, contemporary piece of art,
that needs an investment of let's say 1 million USD for logistics and materials.

Where would you start to look up for a sponsor/patron (who would own the finished artwork
later, of course)? An organization? Museums? The state? Private investor(s)/collector(s)?

Anyone experiences with such high numbers stuff? Thank you!

(As far as I'm aware), most of the people who became big fine artists with great sponsors, achieved this by years upon years of dedicated study and hard work, gradually building up their portfolios as they put their work through exhibitions and gained awards and recognition along the way. Getting into a good university helps a lot, but its a process thats still very organic and dependent on a whole variety of factors coming together (ingenuity, hard work, talent, skill, great self-promotion and business skills etc). The artists who get real media attention & notoriety for their exhibitions are much more likely to attract bigger commissions.
