I have a small 4x4 meters studio that I use for writing, and I would like to create a small space for drawing and oil painting.
How can I make sure that smells and fumes don't bother and soak into all the space?

welcome to the forum, Lillo.
in the woodworking shops, we build a simple "contraption" that holds a fan and on the back of it, we put a filter that traps dust, fumes and odors. Talk to your local Air Conditioning and Heating company as to which filter they would recommend for your space and the types of odors you need to trap. The one shown in my photo is a MERV-13. To learn more about the MERV ratings and what they do, check here.
The one I made for my home work area is pretty crude but is about 75% efficient - which is better than nothing. Take into consideration that it is a FAN - so it will be blowing air around the room and will make some noise.
