Hi all, I'm new here.

Looking to cut this sculpture into many horizontal slices. A bit like you would cut an onion. Then I want to fit the slices back together, and the slices to be able to spin round. Anyway, any tips on what to use to cut the sculpture into slices, in terms of what machines could be used to cut such large head sized objects? This bust is made of resin, but I'm open to using other materials that can be used with molds, if they're perhaps easier to slice. Appreciate any suggestions in advance, thanks.

Edwin, what size is it ? what tools do you have access to ?
my band saw has an 8" clearence. My friend's B/S has an 18" clearance.
other than that, a "good quality" handsaw will work in the right hands of a person that knows how to use one.
Do have the mold ? do you cast it yourself ? Also - how many are you wanting to make ?

Hi John, thanks for the tips. The band saw idea seems like it could work if I can find/borrow one with large enough clearance. Its a bust I was given, and I fancy playing round with it to make a fun piece
