Hello, I want to make a big clay sculpture(super sculpey), but I have a problem to find a good "wooden stand plate". A piece of wood with for example a metal pole that helps to stabilize the sculpture.

1. Question: Where can I find such wood pieces?

2. Question: What is the best way to "secure" a metal pole inside the wood?

I don't know the size of the sculpture you are doing. If it is large enough you might use a piece of water pipe and use a floor flange to mount the pipe to the wood. A smaller rod you could just drill a hole in the wood and secure the rod to the wood with epoxy like a wood dowel.
