How can I illustrate a food recipe?

Hey Traffic NYC,
I have to ask to clarify because this is an artist forum, do you mean how can you illustrate (as in draw) a food recipe? Or just how to outline (typed out) a general recipe? If it's the latter, typically you list your ingredients first with the measurements and then write out numerical steps for the directions. If it's neither of these, could you specify what you mean exactly?
