Time for number 5, this also from an area rich in gold mining history. Lake Basin a spot popular for trout fishing in the Northern California High Sierra roughly 20 miles from the small town of Downeyville located on the Yuba River on highway 49 the golden chain highway. This view from a hilltop looking westerly down onto Gold Lake although there are dozens of small lakes in this small area so I’ll have to confirm the specific lake but the area I’m in is directly across from the turnoff from Gold lake Highway onto the access road to the lake.
