[Master Snowy]

Hey you all! My name's Snowy and I dream to become a good artist one day, and I try to better my skills in all the time that I get (though it is very little right now). So, in all the time that I did get, I have sketched out a la ferrari using my tablet. I have uploaded the photo in this this forum, here- http://www.artistforum.com/digital-art/using-tablet-la-ferrari-10378/#post43818 It's my latest piece of work with abundant and evident flaws as you will all come to know when you see it. But, it happens to be one of my first try at drawing something seriously. So, it is a treasure for me, though I'm bent on improving it once I get the time.

I'm sorry about my earlier main post, I just did not know how to introduce myself. So, I ended up talking about my art from the fake view points I got from another forum and that totally sounded as though I was a proud sort of person. I was only trying to make a good impression and I did not know how to make a post. So, I ended up babbling something very inappropriate. So, I'm very sorry for that. But, I hope this post makes things clearer about me now. I'm really not a proud nor am I a rude sort of person. It was just a misunderstanding and a mistake on my part to have written a main post like that that led others to misunderstand me. But, I hope this clarifies things now, and I hope not to ever ़make such mistakes in the future. I have learnt my lesson. Thank you for giving me your time, everyone! I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart! (And my hearty thanks to Chanda95 for being one of my first advisers! Thank you Chanda for giving me a good start with my art. )

Basically, I draw more on my tablet than paper because I do not have the facility to get the right materials at the moment in life. Long story why. But, I honestly don't use any magical tools or something, I do free hand drawing on my tab. So, I hope nobody views my art with a skeptical or biased outlook. It really is free hand drawing, and it is out of dire need that I started free hand drawing on my tablet like that. But, it doesn't make it any different from real art. Just the difference in materials used, no short cuts and such, and I don't even like taking short cuts anyway.

But, enough of that. I do hope that I get to learn all that I can from this forum (because that is why I joined this place. Not to show off my art, but to learn and hopefully, be of some good help to you guys too) and I shall start practising real hard with the right materials once I'm settled in life. I think I shall stay here forever and longer because I see this place has incredible knowledge in store and it has already taught me that learning when it comes to art, has no end, and that's just fascinating about it! There is always more to learn and never really a stop when it comes to art! That's just amazing about this wonderful profession and I love it! And because this forum teaches me so much, it is THE best forums so far in my opinion. Thank you very much for giving me your time, everyone. It taught me a lot of lessons and helped me learn things well. Priceless and unforgettable this.

Oh, why, yes, I can do it alright. ^.^ I can sketch real well on paper too (so, "I" can).

Btw, I'd like to show you all more of my works. (Edit: just posted a thread in the watercolor and graphite section)

And no doubt, I will be able to sketch that car on paper too... and when I get the time to do it, I'll show it to you guys here. No sweat there. Thanks for the tip!

P.S., Wow! I saw your sketches and I really liked them! Especially the one with your daughter (if I'm not wrong) playing chess, marvellous! The chess pieces were dark and shiny, but incase you were looking for any criticism on it, I would also like to add that you do need to add good/ smooth finish to the pieces, otherwise, they are marvellous!

Wow, the same thing happened to me just now. (I wrote your quote here because I coincidentally just found it when reading all the threads.)

This is what I was saying: Wow, thank you for those words, Pencils, and I wish you the best with it! I'm sure you are way better than I could ever be, at this moment. It's very inspiring to hear that you've got 44 years of experience and it's real humble that you tell me that you're still learning. That's great stuff.

I would really like to see your works, if you don't mind showing me, Pencils. May I know where you've put your works for display? Because I tried to search for them, but I couldn't find them yet.

Better is a relative term, who`s to say one person is better than another? Well, lots of people believe they`re qualified to SAY it, experts and critics for example...many of whom probably can`t draw a stick figure but they`re good at regurgitating stuff they`re read in books. Personally I always think I can do better and thats what drives me to continue so thats what better means to me...something I can shoot for not something someone else says, especially someone who considers them self an art critic...or most gallery owners.

What details and so realistic, abstract and perfect and VERY artistic! Indeed you really do have something different from the most of us. And it is true what you say, maybe an artist cannot be compared, but can be unique and that makes him better than the rest. That really goes for you. Thank you very much for showing me your art work, Pencils. Appreciate it a whole lot! I can see the eye detailing and the shadows, one of the most challenging stuff, and I especially like the Tiger one, it's what I've been trying at.. The face of a cat or a tiger, and I can't get it to be as nearly as good as your sketching, but I do try. Thank you, Pencils. It's inspiring.

P.S., Have you had a look at my art work too? It's not nearly as good. But, for starters, it's not bad and that keeps me going.

thanks for the kind words. yeah, it`s a tiger, i just drew the eyes `cause they were what grabbed me in the photo. and please...it`s a lower case "p" in pencils...like Rodney Dangerfield...I don`t deserve no respect

@AZACRYLIC: I'm sorry if I said something wrong, but I think you may have misunderstood my words in someway, if I sounded anything rude, I'm truly sorry for that and will watch out next time. I don't mean to be over my head or overly confident or anything like that. But, thank you and yes, I promise to you, I will always keep learning. It's one of the best advices. Thank you for that.

Welcome to the group. I have been around here for a few years though haven't posted as much lately.

There are some incredible artists here - they do jaw dropping and humbling work. I think no matter what level you are at you are still learning and still working to improve your craft.

I feel to be a good artist you have to be prepared to be humbled by others. There will be days you will look at your work and think it couldn't get any worse and there will be days when the light bulb flashes on and you can actually look at a piece of yours with pride.

I have become a better artist because of both the critiques and the encouragement I have recieved from the wonderful artists on this very site. The key is to develop a thick skin and realize that the words said are truthful, insightful..and helpful..IF you let them be.

If you are not aware the "unfinished" look is do to the style I have adapted on that large grain paper. It is a learning experience. I will give your criticism the concideration it deserves.
