Been in a creative slump since Christmas. How do I get him/her back? It's the closest I've been to depression in a long time. Do I wait for it to come back, or knuckle down and push through?

I've been checking in everyday here to see what everyone's up to and thought it may help me to derive some inspiration. It helps a little, but sheeze this slump sucks big time.

I think I may have put myself here with my style of drawing. I like to start and stay on the drawing until it's complete. And then move on to the next when I'm done. Perhaps I should work on several at a time...?

Any idea's, thoughts or personal experience would be highly appreciated.

Sean I don't know what to tell you, this time of really sucks for me as well...always lacking behind in the mood to paint. I don't know...I think when the days start to get longer and the temps start to warm I always get back to my normal self...then I have to worry about if fishing will take over my whole summer.

I'd say try something different and if doesn't work for you you always have what you know.

Sean is there anywhere you can go and get away from it all. We have a place here that has nothing but swamps birds and everything that gets you away from it all. A healthy dose of get the hell away from it all helps me. Good luck. Hope you get over this.

Thanks Guys. Darksouth, you may have touched on something. But it's the reverse with me. I've been traveling almost non-stop since before Christmas. I just wanna go home and stare at paint drying.

This is kind of funny. There are two places on my bucket list that I shall visit and both you and George live in those places. The Smoky Mountains and the deep Southern swamps. Both have always intrigued me.

Well com'on down. Spring is almost here and The bugs will be biting,It will be hot and sticky, and the gators will be jumpy. Great Swamp weather. Bring a rain coat and skeeter spray. We grow them big down here. Oh yeah be careful of the snakes. Love the swamps. My favorite place to be.

The above is my get away place. It is free to the public as long as people respect it that is. Every so often I will see a plastic bottle floating out in the marsh around the Wood storks, Ducks, and other birds and I think, now who the [email protected]%k would through that in there and mess this up. Other than that Ya gotta have a place to get away! Be careful of these guys and the snakes. They hide!:D

Wow, you guys do live i some cool places! Sean, i feel ya bro....i think im slowing down myself but its a good thing. When you go without art it gives you time to look around, look at your art and the improve ments youve made as an artist, develope new ideas, and build the excitement back. Sean my friend ...this is just the "calm before the storm"

Yeah. Michael you've been cranking out some serious work lately! You need a break, take a breath. You can come on down too. I love peace and quiet. You never realize how much you miss it until you don't hear anything. No cars, cell phones, people talking. Just you and nature.
