Hello everyone. My name is Brandy Davis and I am an artist specializing in painting Native American portraits on feathers. It is something I have been doing since 2006 (although I have been painting for most of my life) and it is something I truly enjoy. I also have a blog, www.TheFeatherArtist.com where I offer free painting tips and tricks to anyone who wants to learn - and the reason I started it was because I've always wanted to be an an art teacher, and to me, running this blog is the next best thing to being able to teach art in person (another passion of mine :)). Anyhow, I hope you all enjoy what I have to offer to the forums (even though I am still not quite sure how to navigate this site....), and I look forward to meeting all of you and seeing what kinds of awesome talent is out there!

P.S. Here are some examples of my work (sorry, I am not sure how to include thumbnails):

Love Native Americans and these paintings are awesome.

Have you ever heard of Floyd "Red Crow" Westerman, he was a Native American activist who spoke of great attrocities dealt to his people, he was also an accomplished singer/somgwriter. There are a few vids of him on Youtube, very wise man.

Welcome to the forums FeatherArtist, I hope to see more artwork from you soon.

Thanks guys!

Train: Yes I have heard of Red Crow. He is an amazing man! :)

George: I only paint with acrylics - oils just aren't for me. I love seeing new forms of feather art! - I hear it is really big down in the New Mexico area as well.

Hi Chanda! Thanks for the compliment! And it is funny because I always hear from people how these types of paintings would do well in New Mexico - maybe I should move there! lol.

That would have to be a great deal of talent to paint something so detailed on a feather. I love native American art! The story goes that somewhere is my family line is American Indian but we have never been able to find out for sure.
