I read the signature as ‘R.D. Shuhrin’, so I searched it up. The first result Google gave was Reginald Daniel Sherrin, a British artist from the latter half of 1800s to early half of 1900s.
There’s a few problems, though. Sherrin is apparently known for using gouache and watercolour… and that his signature is a little different, he seems to have mostly signed other works as ‘D. Sherrin’. Not a massive difference, but his style does look a little like the one in the painting you have.
Wow thank you I think you're right. It looked like the word Schuman to me. The paint isn't so thick like what i think of as oil so maybe could be some kind of goache? Or maybe have used a different signature for different mediums. Thanks!
