We bought an oil painting several years ago at an estate sale in Dallas, PA (northeastern PA). The owner of the painting was a local resident who painted himself, having attended the New York Art Students League and taught figure drawing.
There is a signature on the upper right; we believe the last two figures are "64", referring to the year the painting was done. But the first part - which we assume is the artist's name - is hard to decipher. The first letter may be "E", not "F" as we once thought.

Any ideas? Most likely an artist from the NYC area where the owner once lived - or somewhere else in the Northeast.
