Here is my other WIP that I just started this afternoon. I'm at a point where I have to wait for it to dry before I can do any more on it. I am happy with the way the vase came out. I keep thinking "what would Chanda say?" "What would Asancta say?" -- and I hear in my head --- Needs contrast! Needs to look rounded! With that in mind I think I did a much better vase than my last one.

Terry, is really beautiful *-*

You want me to say what would I improve... I don't know why, but when I see the bottom of the vase it gives me the sensation that is floating there, and not placed over something. Now that makes me feel horrible ~.~ cuz I'm criticizing your painting but I do not know what you should do to improve it .-.

Anyway, is so great :3

Hey FanKi, what you said should not make you feel terrible. Helpful criticism is what makes us all improve. I understand what you mean about the vase just floating. What I should have is a delimiter between the wall and the table it is on. I left it out as an experiment. My last vase picture the table was way too distracting and so this time I tried to make it as subtle as possible, but I think you are right I over did lt. I will make it on a table (kind of) sometime today. Thank you for your critique...Honestly it is helping me improve.

Another thing I will do to the painting today is put in some highlights and perhaps some shadows. That always makes me nervous a bit. I have ruined paintings from overdoing the highlights.

I don't really think you must do the table. Why don't we search a mid-spot. I mean, not a table, but a very soft surface for the vase, in the same color palette as the background, so it can be placed over and in that way it's not that huge to distract.

Well... In my imagination it seems a good option >.< don't know if it's hard to achieve... you should wait for Asancta to talk before doing something jajjajaja, maybe she has a better solution >.<

I worked on the painting this morning. I don't know why I called it done before I did the highlights. I need to stop doing that. FanKi I think the surface (table) the vase is on is now more distinct and vase is more grounded. From now on I'm not going to consider a picture done until three people on this site say it's done.:sighlol:

Then you enter the forum, click into the thread, and you realized Terry's painting just... lvl up (?

You got exactly what I was talking about, that lightblue touch around the vase it's what I had in mind >.< and you did it perfectly!
I love it :3

PS: Why no more yellow flowers? o_O? It looks great, but I only wanted to ask xD

You know I'm not sure why I made all the daisies pink. I was putting white highlights on the daisies and smeared some of the red into the yellow and I thought Ooooooo I like them in pink better and changed all of them. Why I liked them better in pink I have not a clue.

Thank you Susan. I think the problem I had with the yellow flowers was not the yellow flowers per-se but the fact that the picture didn't have a dominant color. There was pretty much and equal amount of green/purple/pink/yellow. But making the yellow flowers pink the pink became the dominant color and it just sits better with me.

I'm going to consider you my second "Done" Susan. One more and it will be official.
