I'm just starting into coloured pencils. I have my lightly-pencilled (HB or B) sketch and I'm applying colour from pencils (derwent).

I'm wondering how you deal with the sketch after applying the colour. Leaving it must be one option but if I wanted to remove it, how do you do that without affecting the coloured pencil?

thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

It is best to draw so lightly it won't show or to erase the graphite step by step. You can also start your piece with a light color pencil sketch in colors related to the finished work. At this point i can only suggest you could try a kneaded eraser.

Will you share it with us?

Good luck.

I hadn't thought of erasing as I went along. Good tip!

I certainly will share. Constructive feedback makes learning faster.
