Is this entire forum dead? I have been going through sections, and there nearly all topics/threads are old with no replies. There’s no information on here. Is there an actual art or artist forum that is actually useful?

Circa daily 2-3 new posts are around (sometimes a bit more), but the "good" habit of people; the doing a new topic for nearly every posts. And these posts mostly contains informations which do not generate too much responses, so they sinking like a piece of rock. And on the top of them coming again a 1-2 posts topic, also determined to sink. This is how became 99% of the topicks dead.
Probably shold make a topic (again a new one??) for general discussion, where most of the ideas, questions, informations could be posted independently from their subjects. Probably would be a bit chaotic, but much more lively... And of course most people still would post their one time post in a specially made new topic. That's how thinks working in and age when the FB is the etalon and most people don't have a clue how a classic forum suppose to work. :vs_laugh:

Most art forums are dead these days.
This one is no exception.
Most FORUMS are dead these days partly because they're out of fashion and (mostly) because long-form, community oriented discussion is not popular, but check out Pinterest and Facebook et al and there's plenty of activity.

The busiest forums these days are Gaming forums, where there's a lot of exchange of information and tactics, along with a lot of 'smack' talk of course. But, they have a very strong community. Maybe that's something to keep in mind - here's hoping that the forum isn't dead.

Yea this doesn't seem like a very active place. Makes you wonder where the owner has gone off to as there doesn't appear to be a lot of participation by staff in people's posts. However it is also true that most forums these days struggle to gain traffic.

It takes a lot of members to be an active forum. I've seen another forum woodworking related where the owner of the forum posted "Is there anyone out there" after a couple weeks with no activity.
