Good Morning my artists friends.

Finally some cool weather! Todays highs is only going to be around 75F (24C). YAY!

I started a new painting yesterday. So far so good. I'll probably finish it today. Since this painting is going so fast I'm not going to do any WIP thread on it but I will post the results.

Yesterday morning I did a little painting and I can't decide whether or not to put it in the dumpster or keep it around for a bit. I posted a picture of it then thought OMG that is ugly so I deleted it. Then this morning I was looking at it and thought...well it has some appeal maybe I'll try fixing it up a bit. Here it is. I'm thinking about making the leaves violet, I think the green and red color is too much contrast in this picture. Open to ideas for improvement.

I opened a different thread but I'll mention it here....I'm going to set up a display of my paintings at a flea market. I'm so excited about that!

Hope everyone has a great day today and does lots of posting.

Good morning!

Terry, It is not the prettiest painting you have done however - it is not dumpster worthy. I think if you worked on it a bit and added a bit of detail to the leaves and the flower it would be fine.

One thing I have noticed in your paintings of flowers is that you tend to make the stems of the leaves too thick sometimes. If you could make those a little more delicate it would go a long long way. For this particular picture I would work on making the petals of the flower a little more discernible. Right now it looks like one giant round petal. If you made those more obvious and added a little detail to your leaves I think it would be quite pretty. The colors all meld together very nicely I think!

Oh! And congrats on your flea market display! Let us know how that goes!

Today is work - I pick the kid up at 4:30 - we rush to take care of his horse then soccer at 5:30 and Awana at 6:00 and home somewhere around 8:00. Wednesdays are "fun".

Thank you for helping me Chanda. I will work on this later today for sure. I see what you mean about the vines being too thick. I'm going to try to watch that from now on. Yes I agree with the assessment of the peddles of the flower. I think I can fix them.

This painting came as an after thought. Athena left over a bunch of acrylic paint on the pallet she was using and since I can't get it back into the tube and it always drys out in those little containers for saving paint and wasting drives me bonkers, I decided to just make a quickie picture.

Here's the before and after. I think I'll keep this one now, it isn't too bad after fixing it a little.

Well I do really like the flower. I think you drastically improved that for sure.

For me the blue and purple of the leaves contrast too much with the red of the background and aren't really complementary HOWEVER what I am seeing through the eyes of a computer screen can be vastly different than what the real painting actually looks like. I often don't think photographs really do paintings justice.

I am quite fond of that flower for sure. You did a great job adding depth! If you put this in your flea market booth I bet you will find a buyer for it!

I don't think I'm ever going to do a red background again. I just don't like. :unhappy: John said it's not so good. I'll probably put it in the market anyway.

John has to build the display wall. He is making a 8 x 6 stand alone structure with peg board on either side so I can have my pictures hanging on it. I hope he gets it finished by the weekend. :vs_worry:

When I get it set up I'll post a picture for sure.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Terry and somebody will stop by and think that is the prettiest picture they have ever seen. I am glad you will put it up and sell it. That is awesome that John is doing that for you. We absolutely look forward to seeing pictures!!!

Who went to the psychologist in a useless way cuz it was closed and walked 20 minutes under the rain? YES! Yes! You got it! >.<

I read, Terry, that your art will be shown in a flea market... Congratulations! And hope you sell some pieces :3 They are worthy!
Your new painting has a lot of colors. I like it, it's perfect for a "happy place" where you got a nice green on the walls :3 (I do want to have a room like that when I get my own house >.<)

Melody, I want to see that comic ^_^

Enjoy the rest of the day!
