I love the month of September! Cooler nights, crisp air, that fall smell. It's invigorating. Happy Sept. 1st Artist Friends.
I decided to set a goal for myself in the art department. Of course I want to get better and be the best I can but that is too vague for a goal. The one thing that would really make me feel great is to have a painting of mine shown at my bank. They show a local artists painting one at the time at my bank. (Sometimes it's great and sometimes not so much so in my opinion). The way I'm going to go about it is first to stumble on a composition of my own that I absolutely love. Haven't had that happen yet...though I have come close on a couple. Then I'm going to reproduce that picture on a large canvas, like maybe 28x45 or even 31 x 50 (these cost a lot). All the paintings I see at the bank are large like that. Then I will talk to the folks at the bank and request to have my painting shown. Oh Yeah...I should make up a business card to put with the painting. Now that would really give me one heck of an ego boast. So that's my goal right now as far as art goes.
This morning I painted the first coat on the vase in my picture. I put in blue for shading but I think I made the vase look too blue instead of the intended white so I see another coat going on after it dries.
I'm probably going to start another picture while I'm waiting on it to dry. I'm going to do more flowers just because I'm really enjoying doing them.
