Hi everybody. Boy this forum sure has slowed down. :unhappy:

It's a chilly morning. I love this weather.

Yesterday I spent the day tweaking already finished paintings that had things in them that were bothering or someone pointed out needed fixing. Today I plan to work on a new painting I started.

I can't, or shall I say I won't, spend a ton of money on good quality canvas. I'm just not that good of a painter for it to be worth it and I do so many paintings. So I buy them as cheap as I can get them, but it can keep me from doing a good painting. The cheap canvas sucks up the paint. So I started gessoing the canvas boards before I use them now and it is making a world of different in how I can use the paint. Just wanted to share that.

Well, have a great day and please share it with us.

The best way we can get the community active again is by starting discussions. :)

We have been chilly in the mornings too. It was only 62 degrees this morning, which is VERY chilly for me. We are headed up to 87 today.

Good morning.

All is ok here. I have bronchitis now..and my husband and kid were exposed to people with stomach viruses. This cold and flu season is not starting off well.

Weather is cool. We are hitting daytime highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 30s..should be hitting the 20 degree mark at night by the end of the week. Had frost on the windshields this morning.

Not drawing..not doing squat..mad. I am now to the point of just being mad at being sick. It is what it is.

Kid had a game last night and they won again. Much better season than the spring that's for sure.

I bought the kid a new saddle for his birthday. I put his old one up for sale but told him that I am having it fixed and he is mad at me because he says it didn't need fixing..lol. He has no idea he is getting a new saddle. None at all. I am excited for him.

Aside from that..Sorry I have been absent. Weekends are hard for me but I will try to be more proactive during the week.

Thanks. I have been getting them from Hobby Lobby and from Walmart. Walmart is definitely the cheapest I've found so far but not 20cents. Depending on size they run from $2 to $7 a canvas and they come in packs of 2. I'm going to check out getting them online. But I don't want any that are going to fall apart. If buy chance I happen to make a good picture on an absolutely terrible canvas that would really bother me. Thanks for the link though I'll check it out.

Some day I want to do a painting on a really good canvas like one produced by the company Masterpiece. (I think that's the name)..fine linen with lots of threading..multiple coatings of finish on it...thick frames that are never visible threw the canvas..and drum tight. These cost way out of my budget for what I can paint....but maybe some day I'll be able to do a painting that is worthy of such a canvas.
