Good morning everybody.

How are you all doing today?

Life this week has been a blur. Yesterday I said my kid was getting better and then probably 10 minutes later I got the call to go pick him because he was just too sick..so I did and spent the rest of the day tending to him. Today he woke up in good spirits and said he was much better so hopefully he is! If so this will be the first full day I have spent at work all week.

Drawing..I am getting the itch. This weekend will be busy but I do hope Monday will be my chance to start the next one...

Lovely paintings Terry. I haven't had a chance to tell you yet but love them. I see Jeff has posted an update..YAY!! Beautiful as always. Asantca..I love your Rebel piece. Lots of emotion in it.

I have a problem. Cameras. I have a DSLR - Canon EOS 70D..love it but it's too big to lug around daily. I have another very small Olympus point and shoot but don't love it and hubby has it this weekend. I have an older Olympus bridge camera but it is also fairly large..and I left it at home today..so...I just went and got myself a Canon PowerShot SX530 HS bridge. So far it seems like it will be nice. It's small and compact in comparison to both my old Olympus and my DSLR..but considerably larger and with more features than my little point and shoot. It also has a 50x optical zoom which isn't bad for a little out of the box bridge camera..and with the canon name it should take some decent pictures. I have a camera addiction I do believe..I can hardly wait for the battery to charge to take 5 million pictures of absolutely pointless things..

LOL..hangs head in shame..I have taken pictures of my cameras..I should do that..I have old cameras hanging about as well..show the progression of pre-digital to now..somewhere I have a nice pre-digital olympus..Don't know that I can even remember how to use that one but it was quite large with removable lenses.

I used to have an old camera. When I was a kid, I was fascinated by it because I loved the movie "The Public Eye." I still love that movie.

So..I am a bit spoiled with the quality of the images from my DSLR..I find these images to be a bit grainy in comparison however....they were taken through my office window. When I look out my window this power pole looks about an inch high. For it not being a DSLR and for all those factors involved..I am very pleased with my purchase. It is a much better camera than my point and shoot. Hopefully I can take it outside today and see what kinds of images I can REALLY get with it.

All of these are SOC without any touchups at all...aside from the arrow pointing to the subject matter in the distance..

WOW that zoom in feature is really good. Your landscape is very much like it was in Nevada. My first thought is...where are the trees? LOL And your first thought when you came to Arkansas was ....so many trees!

I think for just general daily shooting it will work out fine. I don't think I will give up my DSLR for things like soccer games or real photography however I think for shooting my kid riding his horse or just general daily stuff it will do the job.

LOL. We have trees they just aren't as overwhelming as in Arkansas. When you go in the mountains we have everything from ponderosa to blue spruce and aspens..but the woodlands like where I live it's pinon and juniper which are scrubbier trees. The open space is what I love about living here..well the ability to SEE the open space I should say..lol.
