Choosing a Scanner - for Archiving

Hi,
I am not interested in doing any scan document editing - so I would like to have as automated a scanner as possible (think plug and play). I am archiving a project and would like the following things in my scanner
1. Automatic Document Feeder
2. Trustworthy capture of document features


Any suggestions? I am documenting old journal entries that are precious and would like to maintain the feel of the written words on the page.
