I made an acrylic painting from one of my boho style digital art, it's 18 x 24 inches, I hung it in my dining room. The photo doesn't capture the colors exactly, the shape on the right is actually a dark brown, not black like the leaves. Critiques always welcome.

Here is the digital version:

I like the bottom one better. The colors are more harmonious. I know what you mean about the photographs not capturing the colors properly. The year we had outstanding fall colors, I was very disappointed with the pics I took.

Your painting has a very peaceful vibe. I like it.l

Thanks much, except for the dark brown, the colors of the original are pretty much the same as in the digital, it's just the way the camera captured it, I didn't do any tweaking, only cropped the photo and posted it.

Thought I would mention the colors used:

For the dark brown I used raw umber, I could have added some burnt sienna to lighten it a bit but didn't feel like mixing the paint so used it straight from the tube.

Bottom shape is burnt sienna with some white mixed in

Middle shape is white with a dab of burnt sienna and raw umber

The circle is yellow with white added

The leaves are black

I've always enjoyed simplicity in art, tho I don't employ it myself. The Japanese are masters of simplified art. I have always admired their decor, zen gardens, etc. They do so much with so little. The effect is very restful.

Nah, I much rather prefer honest responses than a pat on the back just to make me feel good. And to be honest, technically this type of art is quite easy to do, maybe a little bit of design sense is needed but not much painting ability.
