Earlier this year I made a chess board with a woodblock print and a watercolor painting I made. I want to make the pieces now but I'm unsure what material I should use. I don't have access to a kiln.
Advice?

milliput 2 part air drying clay - dries like marble and lasts for ever

You should use wood in this also.
