Forum Topics

Two new forum topics I would like to see;

Mixed Media
(Self explanatory)

What's in Your Sketchbook?
(Even though they are not works of art, our sketchbooks contain content that could be fun and /or infomative to share)

Just a thought...

I really like the 'mixed media' idea. Since I don't have a sketch book I guess I'm kind of neutral about that.

I will send a note to the administrator and ask if they can be added. I don't know what it takes to add a category so don't hold you breath on it.

Just want to let you know that I sent the note to the Artadmin this morning. The Administrators only work regular working hours Mon - Fri, so the note won't even be looked at until Monday.

I'm really not sure how the admin stuff works but I know there are several admins and they are paid salaries. They are not volunteers like us mods. I think it is a company that does the creation and administration of several forums and they get their money from the advertisers.

Anyway not everything we have asked for has been granted, like fixing that bug that you get an "Invalid Album" message if you don't enter a 'caption' on a photo you have uploaded to your album. Chanda has requested that be fixed years ago.

So we'll see if they put those extra categories on. I'll post here if I hear back from them.

Whooo hoooo -- things have changed

I can't believe it I got answers to both the notes I sent to Artadmin over the weekend. Both came from new people there. Anyway looks like they are being much more attentive now. WOW. In regards to the forum topics it's a go...just need to let them know which sections to put it under. I'm thinking the Sketch Book should go under the "drawing" section. And the Mix Media under "Other Art". Does that sound OK to everyone?

Here's the message I got back from Artadmin.

Good for you! And them!!

I, personally, would put mixed media in with Oil, Watercolor, etc

As for Sketchbook I think you're correct putting that under Drawing

Bushcraftonfire has a point, A lot of my mixed media pieces involve cps, pastels, charcoal, etc....
it would be a difficult choice, because I am aware that a lot of works would involve painting too.

Yes it is a difficult choice. Usually when you paint you first draw the picture. This time I used pastels, though I just drew and outline, then I used an acrylic underpainting and now I'm using oil.

I think we should go with 'Other Art' . Personally I never even look at the category or section of the posts because I just go to "New Posts" up in the menu line and read everything, so it doesn't matter to me.
