LOL. Great link. I don't know that I fall in the "want to be a professional photographer" category...more like the challenge to be the best photographer I can be with the equipment I have. These newer cameras have made photography a lot easier for the everyday person. I am sure my pictures would be much better if I had the latest and greatest camera but I take great joy in just taking the pictures and getting good shots and trying new angles and lighting. If I can get a high quality shot out of my 11 year old camera then I am pretty darn proud of myself. I generally have to work for my pictures as my camera is a pain - but I still love it.

I have a friend who entered into the world of photography. I know she loves it but I don't see her soul or her essence come through her pictures. Does that make sense? She gets the big expensive camera and takes really pretty shots - but that's it. There really isn't depth behind them.

If my pictures are less than steller but they still evoke something in someone I value that. I would rather be that kind of photographer than one who does it for a living and takes pictures just to earn a check and that's it.
