: New guy - charcoal samples

Hi folks - newest forum member here. Most of my drawings are graphite, but I did these two in charcoal just to try it out. Like I mentioned in my introduction in the community forum, I have a hard time with capturing likeness right now. Anyway, please give me some feedback on these - I'd love to improve!

These are great! I'm jealous of the barns as I struggle with scenery. They seem kind of light for charcoal, maybe just the photos, but I think you underestimate your talent.

Thank you! I actually have a tendency to draw very light - something I'm working on correcting. I started with landscapes because I have a really hard time drawing the human face/form. I'm getting better at it now - too stubborn to quit :-)

I know this thread is old, but I just have to reply.

I don't know if that's what you were going for, but the lower image instantly made me think of Clint Eastwood. I like it :D
