Hi there,

I am working on a sculpture to be installed outside made out of crayons, but I am having trouble finding a glue that will permanently bond with the paper around the crayons. When the wax begins to melt, which I want it to do, the paper begins to slide away from the glue. So far I have only tried hot glue gun glue, does anyone have any suggestions?

Well, I'm not an expert by any means though the issue I see with that is that hot glue gun glue is sort of heat reactant and it melts as the wax does, and it would slide as the wax does when the heat liquifies it. So let's look at things that don't need heat to be installed, but water instead, perhaps?

I'm thinking you should try it with a sort of art paste, or better yet, a type of grout. I've only ever worked with grout once or twice and I doubt that it would give off the affect that you're trying to achieve, but it seems that it would be a little more weather resistant.

Hopefully that helped. If you ever do find something that works, feel free to post it here!

have you considered plastic acrylic, or resin? you could cover the glue when its dried with a light coat of wax.
