I recently was given a lot of sawblades and I am wanting to paint them with Acrylics. I bought some primer at Ace but they didn't have white only yellow that was acrylic based. It also takes about 5 or 6 layers before the rust stops speckling through; this is after I sand and clean off the blade. Is there a really good primer that anyone knows that could speed up my process?

Gesso is a wonderful primer, dries up (almost) instantly and is compatible with virtually all media while the costs are almost next to nothing. If it has to be absolutely flawless use a metalprimer for the first layer, then after drying layer it up with Gesso.
