Happy weekend!

It's almost New Years! How do you feel about it? Are you excited for the New Year?

Do you have any superstitions, traditions that have been passed down through generations? Resolutions? My family never was very big on New Years, so we don't have many traditions.

What's planned for New Year's eve? I'm going over to a friends place with my family, for a big party they host every year. Lots of food, fireworks, games, everything! :)

Are you painting something right now? If so, please share!

What's for supper on the big day? We'll be having too much food to list here! :)

Take the prompts and go wherever you want with them; this thread is for general chatting, both about art and whatever else is on your heart!

You are very excited I can tell! Which is good by the way, its always better to be full with life than the other way around

However I have nothing exciting to share with you about this time of year myself, infact I will be glad when its all over and done and everything will get back to 'normal' again (I'm boring from most's perspective I guess).

Anyway, have a blast allready yourself, enjoy!

You should try; you might be pleasantly surprised! Thanks, I will. :)

I'm going to work a little more on my drawing now.

I've never really used the scribble method, but I think I'm going to try a scribble drawing just for the heck of it! :) Anything I should know before I start?

Well just strike away with your pencil and dont be scared about having to draw a multitude of lines before a shape(line) is exactly the way you want it. Once you find a/the (good) line you want go on with the rest of the drawing and do not worry about all the redundant lines, just be very loose when drawing and just dont think about failure or such. Think it is all just for practice sake and so you cant loose anything if a drawing fails completely, think of it like 'every drawing made, good or bad, will help you develop'. And dont erase anything during scribbling, save that for when there is a/any quality to your scribble and then again be conservative about it, leave the scribble as raw as possible. If I could suggest anything I would scribble with a reference photo on the side (or on your screen as I usually do), so you can just scribbledraw after the image.

p.s.
Use something to smudge shadowparts, a cottontip or tortillion, it will work out greatly but try not to overdo it.

Thanks for the tips, Rrr! Now I only have to figure out what to draw...

Here's the finished product. It's not so much scribble art, but I had fun with it! Even though proportions are wrong...

Let's see if you'll be able to guess who my model was
