Im having a problem creating artwork since i have fallen in love. im painting a bit but it is all of her and try as i might i cant move onto another subject. has this happened to anyone else and did it pass. I display and sell my work though im not what you would call successful and dont feel it is morally right to sell pictures of my girlfriend and how i feel bout her. i suppose i am hoping that someone will say this has happened to them and the art comes back. normally its social comment with me or something ive been learning about that i have passed on. Im all landscaped out so cant just keep myself busy. some how it needs to mean something. How do other people deal with th moral dylema of putting real people and real emotion into their artwork

Stop being a ham. It is only art. Get over yourself.

Interesting question. I would say, discuss this with your girlfriend and see if she is okay with your work of her being sold. She may be flattered and art that has passion behind it is always the best art.

The other idea that I have that may help you move back to landscapes is paint landscapes with your girlfriend as the lady in the picture, but with it being an image that is more about the place and environment she is in. Some examples, maiden running across a field of flowers, maiden resting by a pool of water, hero woman conquering a fear as shown by a location and weather...etc.

Just a couple thoughts I had. Hope that helps.
