Hello artists,

I was hoping that you would be able to help me with research for an essay I am writing for my Uni degree and am hoping to take into my dissertation.

Human bone in art.

Would any of you consider using human bone in your work?

Any opinions on why we should or should not use human bone as a medium in art would be gratefully accepted.

Many thanks.

Human bone?? That's disgusting, why?

But why is it disgusting?

We have ossuaries, and reliquaries. There are medical skeletons of human bone.

People seem to be happy enough with representations plastic and other materials, why not use the real thing?

The use of cremation ashes in art is now on the rise.
