Yes, but most of the youth are concerned with "How to" than "Why" when it comes to art. Many have no foundation, it is merely a competition as to who can, as it is said on the internet, "Git gud" [sic]. They do not realize that art is a representation of their skill and their perception. And what is becoming apparent is that modern perception is stifled and limited.

So when I have students or discuss art with younger artists, I like to inquire about their methodologies, their beliefs, their perceptions regarding life and their influences, what drives them to create, what is their end goal and so on.

Unfortunately, this sort of approach, from my experience, seems to be something of antiquity incomparable with the materialist endeavors of the modern society. Art seems to have lost it's intrinsic and aesthetic values in today's youth, so I am always pleased when I see a young artist with a burning passion for the work they made, albeit, it is a rare occurrence.
