Hi, nice work, very colorful. I don't have any advice on how to get your work noticed. I also posted a couple of my paintings and nobody said "boo". Good luck.

Is it the end all to be noticed?

Not for me, not by you. I just thought that was one of the reasons for joining and posting here. Thanks for clarifying it for me.

it take a while to get notice. your works are nice :)
but if you keep on posting and maybe look up how to use tags, it could help.

Don't know if you are replying to me or to the OP, but what are tags and where do I go to find out how to use them? Thanks.

I've had a lot of success with Pinterest too.

Here is how I recommend you take on Pinterest.

Create 5-10 quality boards, each with their own topic which is related to the kind of art you create.

Make sure you fill out your profile in full. With your website, make sure you have Rich Pins activated (google it).

You then want to get your first 200 or so followers (more on why later). You can do this by inviting your facebook and instagram followers, family and friends to your board. If that doesn't make 200 people, there are Facebook groups (search "Pinterest Group Boards" in Facebook) where people share their Pinterest profile - you can get a lot of followers that way.

Once you have 200 or so people you will want to start applying to group boards related to your artwork. There are heaps of great group boards out there. To find them just type in Pinterest search "[topic] group board". Obviously, change [topic] to be what topic you want the group board to be about. Eg art, drawing, craft, photography, DIY.

Once you have found a group board, you will need to find the owner. This is the first person listed in the contributors list. Follower the group board owner and sent them a message (usually by commenting on a pin of theirs) asking for permission to contribute.

Once you have permission to contribute, you now have access to the group board (and the thousands of followers). When you post something from your site on these boards it has potential to reach 100s of 1000s of people on these group boards (instead of just your initial followers).

The next step is to use regularly pin to these boards. I use Tailwind. I don't go crazy, but it gives me consistant traffic. I have a friend who uses Pinterest for their health blog and they get 1000+ a visitors a day from pinterest using the above strategy.

If you have an etsy store, behance account or other place you make money from your art, you can pin the image from there. This means people will be redirected to your store if they click on your pin.

Hope that helps.

Also, tumblr is another platform (though I don't have much experience).

I would also look up were to sell art online. Set up shop on all of these and monitor which one makes the most sales for you.

Good luck!

Thank you for the information. I have copied it so I can print and later reference it. I appreciate your taking the time to explain in detail. Thanks.

Thank you Chapel1 for asking so bluntly, which many people shy away from doing. And thank you Concept for that advice about Pinterest. I've got an account there but it has been dormant forever... Will resuscitate it, methinks =)

Just read through some of the comments all great tips. I personally think Instagram is great for reaching big audiences. You just need to get the # hashtagging right and also monitor what time of day gets the most likes etc. I noticed one day I posted at round 4-5pm and my picture got a lot more than if I post in the morning I think mainly due to people finishing work etc. I'm a newbie myself but have been slowly noticing a growth on my instagram :)
