Greetings fellow artists & artisans , I come here to introduce you to a new website that I have created to highlight local artisans of all mediums world-wide. Below is the text from our recent flyer explaining what we are all about:

Welcome to Artisaní In celebration of our establishment we are offering a free one-year membership to our site for the first 300 respondents .

Artisanís Atlas is a newly created website designed with the express purpose of gathering together the works and links of as many local artists as possible and providing them with some added exposure at minimal expense to them.

Our international directory of local artists will provide potential buyers from anywhere in the world , with one stop , the ability to find the artist they desire whether they create right down the block or a hemisphere away. Our website is searchable by medium , name or geographic location .

Those mediums include painting of all types , sculpture , arts & crafts , mixed media , photography , textiles , jewelry , drawing , woodcrafting , ceramics and pottery . Basically anything handmade .

Upon signing up each artist will get their own editable page , indexed to their geographic location , on which they can feature the works of their choice in multiple different formats as well as listing contact info , awards received , show/appearance schedules and even links to their own websites if they have them .

And so fellow artisans , now is the time to take advantage of this cost-free opportunity to become a founding member in our new venture dedicated to bringing up-and-coming artists out of their studios and into their potential audienceís living-rooms , studies and yards .

To sign up now or seek further information you may contact us at [email protected] and we will get right back to you with how to get your gratis page up and running or answer any questions you may have .

Thank you for your time and consideration. We would greatly appreciate it if , having decided that our website is something you feel would benefit your local artists , you could pass this on to your friends, members and associates. Any additional visibility that you might give us would be much appreciated . Thanks for your time and consideration , RB Herrlin - photographer & founder of Artisan's Atlas

Sounds like a scam.

It's not a scam. It's a newly formed website , founded by me RB Herrlin , photographer and owner of If it was a scam would I include my personal info and web address? Artisan's Atlas was founded for the
purpose of creating a "one-stop" directory of local artists and artisans world-wide. Our website is up and running , we are incorporated in the state of New Hampshire and are a 100% legitimate business.

The offer of a year's free membership for the first 300 sign-ups is our way of generating a starting clientele and thus increasing the likelihood of exposure for all of our members. We do no selling , charge no fees or percentages and for paying customers will be charging a nominal fee of $10 per month for each artist.

For that $10 , which is the cost of one cheap lunch , the artists get an individual page that they can set up however they like and can display whatever info that they desire. That info can include up to 24 photos of their works , biographical info , links to their webpages , social media pages and contact info where they can sell their works at no cost.

Still sounds like a scam. At the very least you are using this site for free advertising.

If you read the entire post you would see that we are offering free memberships . If that is against the rules then let me know and the post will be removed. As this was my first post , when I made it it was indicated that it had to be approved by a moderator. To me that said the post was acceptable. I will gladly remove it if I am mistaken.
