Hi all,

I am not sure if this is the correct place for this post but I was wondering if anyone is doing the Inktober Challenge this year?

draw something with ink everyday of oktober. today you would draw something random with a fine ink pen - call it inktober #24 post it on facebook and hope for alot of likes.

so i guess the "challenge" is either to practise ink line drawing every day a full month and/ or get the most likes you can possibly get for your daily art dump i mean artwork.

Okay well that's a rather cynical look at it. I am using it to practice working with india ink and a dip pen which I have never done before.

*edit* here is a link to the website (http://mrjakeparker.com/inktober).

true but im not wrong am i? ;) in every art related fb grp im in its inktober #xy and the quality diminishes fast since it becomes more about posting something rather than posting something that really means anything to you. exceptions make the case :P

I can see how this would be helpful to artists suffering with a block

Is it too late to start? I've got a couple of pens on my desk.

I suck at inktober. I'm dead in the water without an eraser.

You can still use an eraser. The challage is just to use some ink in your piece. :)

you can sketch with a pencil and make clean ink lines over it but you will profit alot more from these exercises if only done with ink. no erasor. no undo.

I spent the morning trying to draw cartoon clouds, circles hatches all from the shoulder. It's really hard for me to not use my fingers. Whenever they are involved, I get weird lines with little bumps and odd things that I wasn't going for. So it's back to basics for me and I like drawing with ink.

I don't have anything to show for my efforts, just wanted to share and get some discussion going.
