: How often do you do your art?

Hi all,
I am feeling really inspired at the moment after my long break from painting so I am trying to paint whenever I can, which is tricky as my life is pretty busy.

At the moment I paint with my painting group every Tuesday, I try and paint a little on Thursday night, and usually on Saturday afternoon. At home it's usually a couple of hours at a time. Tuesday's is 3 hours.

I was just wondering how often people managed to get to do there art? Are you regular? Do you have a set time? Of do you work erratically?

If course I think about it all the time I have Atleast 3 paintings in my head at the moment [emoji4]

I'm not a good example because I'm retired now, but I paint or sketch/draw almost daily. A lot of the time I just scribble things in my sketch book and I also have a small leather-bound permanent journal that I use for all things I like, including writings. I'd be tempted to say just paint/draw when the mood takes you. Don't make rules where none are needed.

I'm also retired and I was painting every day religiously. But the last few months things have change and I only paint a little now and then. I still love it, but some other things have been taking up my time.

Yeah for me if I don't set time aside it won't happen [emoji4]. I work pretty much full time, my hubby works long hours and we have 2 small children!! But I must say painting is putting a strain on my already shaky house keeping skills lol

For me, very sporadic. When the mood hits.

I used to only do art when the mood strikes me, but I found that I was not getting to my goals. Now, you'll find me finishing more pieces way more often and still sketching almost daily. Sometimes, I take the weekends off to relax my wrist a bit.

But you seem to have a really good schedule going for you. :) It all depends on your deadlines (professional and personal ones) and any expectations or goals you may have for yourself.

I am very lucky to have a Husband who has a job that brings home the bacon which leaves me time to focus on my art. I draw and do art everyday. :)
