Well I may just not be seeing it, but I can't tell what the first drawing is. :vs_smirk:

Now the second one I got just fine.

Hey thanks for checking in, the first one is just a rough concept. The photo i took of it is really bad. Basically is a ghost figure turning into a shadow pulling and reaching for a light? IDK

The first one looks like a salamander.
Self portrait number 2 is excellent. 1st one, not so much.

I would suggest that you spend more time on each drawing. The last ones are not up to standard.

You look a little scary in #3, which is nothing like the actual picture!! Weird!

I'm just doing some rough sketches, i'll do better ones eventually. For now I'm getting comfortable and not really caring about the end result trying to get proportions and form and general tonal studies of thface.

Quick study of the lead singer of lights. My celebrity crush!
5 - 10 minutes, i plan to draw her eventually. I am still learning anatomy and portraits so when i start getting more accurate in quick studies ill begin doing more indepth tonal studies and better studies of texture.

You have your own style. That's a wonderful thing. I do tutorials often and I feel kind of like I'm borrowing other artist's style. Not always but a lot of the time.

Borrowing other artist styles are how we create our own style. You just need to know when enough is enough. I found that out playing fiddle and banjo. Now I just sound like me but I have all these skills learned from years of copying. I just wish I had gone my own way sooner. I'm going to try to do my own thing sooner with art. I feel like I already have enough borrowed skills.

Your hands drawings look so soft, what's the secret there? I always make them look so rough and hard-looking D:

Sorry i wasnt trying to be rude or anything. I was being serious. Photo quality is important right now all i can do is provide photos generated from my webcam.

As for the hands, I think its all in the fact i use a plastic eraser when rendering. I also don't do many layers.

todays sketch!

Its a concept and i name it

"Longing"

Its a rework of a previous piece of mine. Inspired by the life of emily dickenson.

Problem is i drew 2 left hands, one is a right hand (it looks like right hands from this photo but its not!)

This was also an imagination exercise i was testing if i learned anything from my hand studies, and i would say yes! (no reference used) The rework is done in graphite while the original is ball-point pens
