Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

I was surprised to find a lovely card from my husband by the coffee pot this morning. I didn't get him one, oh well it's my turn to forget. Maybe I'll take him out to a steak house (on his money).

I have a million thoughts of paintings I want to do. None of which are reference photos or tutorials. I've got the urge to paint a blue rose in the rain. I also have the urge to paint a rose bush with 9 roses on it--- representing me and my husband and our off springs. I'm thinking about two different total abstracts I want to do. Just a canvas of color with no subjects. Not sure if I'll follow up on any of these thoughts.

What are you folks up to? What are your plans and thoughts?

Happy Valentine's day all!

I just did my first color landscape, they are harder than they look! :surprise:

It is in the Pastel Painting thread, please check it out and advise me on how to improve.

I am sure whatever you choose to paint will come out wonderfully Terry. The family roses idea is great!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm single but I sent my parents to couples yoga with massages yesterday. I've never painted roses, I feel like I'd need someone to teach me. One day I'll go back to art classes.

Butterfly I have been struggling to do roses for about a year and I finally think I'm getting the hang of it. All it takes is practice, practice, practice to do anything.

I suck at drawing roses...why are they shaped so weird? Lol

I threw together a quick drawing to post on Instagram, since everyone was posting Valentine art. Nothing too difficult, just decided to be a joiner.

If u click on the silly thing it will be right side up. :plain:

Hubby and I gave up on holidays years ago, mostly because he sucks at buying gifts. I know it's the thought that counts, but he will spend too much $$ on something stupid that I don't even like, then tell me I'm hard to buy for. I'm am so easy to buy for!!

All those little intricate designs must take forever to do. It's really cute Leighann.

I like all the details...I actually wish I could do more, but I need a real desk, better light, new eyes, etc.
